- [Instructor] In this video you will learn how to load the Scott Essential Electronic Roll Towel Dispenser. To open the front cover, use the key that is taped to the back of the dispenser and insert into the two slots at the top of the cover. To change to a push button option locate the round tab at the top of the cover. From inside the cover push outward on the tab until it snaps out. This will leave two slots which you will use to insert the push button. Next, locate the push button on the back of the dispenser housing and remove the button by turning it 45 degrees and sliding it out. There are two tabs on the push button that correspond with the two slots left in the cover when the original round tab was removed. Push the button into the cover from the outside while aligning the tabs with the slots. Rotate the button 45 degrees to lock in to place. Next, locate the battery compartment at the front lip of the dispenser. Remove the cover to the battery compartment by pushing the left hand tab inward and lifting up. Insert four D size alkaline batteries labeled with LR20 or R20 designation, in the order indicated on the battery cover. Other types of batteries are not acceptable. Close the battery cover lid. The Scott Essential Dispenser System combines a color coded core plug and matching roll holders. Only the same color core plugs and matching roll holders will work together. To load the paper start by lining up the pin of the purple arm and insert it into the matched purple core plug. The paper is loaded with the paper tail unwinding from the back of the roll. The first sheet of paper is started by placing the tail under the blue bar visible on the left side of the dispenser. Push down gently on the bar as shown. Close the dispenser, wait until the red light flashes then test for paper. Once the paper is loaded correctly the unit is ready to dispense at the factory set nominal 11 inch length. It takes about three dispenses to self adjust to this paper length. If you have not already done so be sure to apply the "do not flush" label to either side or front of the dispenser as shown on the instruction sheet. Two labels, one for the smoke and one for the white dispenser are included in the box. This dispenser is equipped with the patented Paper Saver technology. The Paper Saver technology decreases the second sheet of paper by 10% when the dispenser is activated within three seconds of the previous dispense. How to use the stub roll. When the size of the roll is the same size as the dimension of the arm as shown, you can utilize the stub roll feature. Begin by removing this stub roll from the roll holder arms. Lift the blue stub roll transfer arms and place the paper underneath them. Then, place the stub roll in the stub roll tray at the back of the dispenser. Now, load the full roll in to the roll holder arms as usual. The paper is threaded under the first stub roll transfer arm only for the full roll. Close the cover and wait two seconds for the dispenser to reset. The stub roll should now feed until it is complete. And, a transfer to the full roll will take place automatically. There are several indicator lights. The LED ready light located at the right bottom edge of the paper chute will flash one time after the batteries are installed and the cover is closed. This will indicate that the unit is powered on and initialized. The LED will flash once after each dispense per cycle to indicate that the unit is ready for the next use. Diagnostics. The LED will flash once every 1.5 seconds continuously when the batteries need replacement. If the unit will not dispense, the following steps should be taken. If the LED indicator light is flashing the batteries need to be replaced. If the LED indicator light is not flashing make sure the batteries are loaded in the correct orientation, try removing and reinstalling the batteries. Make sure the paper has been loaded correctly. Make sure the paper roll turns freely. Make sure the paper path is clear of obstructions.
